Cadu

Brazilian artist well known for his research on landscape. His assemblies and exercises are the result of the study of different phenomena of nature such as the sun, wind, humidity and movement.

From the direct experience with different places, he proposes systems and procedures that he designs and imposes to himself, derived from the encounter with the environment and its detailed observation.

The project in Atacama

The project developed by the Brazilian artist for Plataforma Atacama consisted of different procedures, interventions and records around the experience of inhabiting the desert.

Cadu lived for two months in a cabin on the remote beach of Hornitos on the edge of the desert (with human contact reduced to visits every 15 days to receive supplies).

During his stay, he also developed some exercises that involved the participation of architecture students from the University of Antofagasta.

The works resulting from this experience were exhibited at Vermelho Gallery in São Paulo, Brazil.
